Dear Friend of HavServe,

As promised, we have another uplifting HavServe Board member profile to share with you today!

We can effect change in Haiti by channeling the talent and dedication of the Haitian Diaspora. HavServe welcomes Pastor Remy Mesilus as our newest board member and as our new Director of Project Management. We are now in our sixth year of volunteer activities in Haiti, and the HavServe leadership team is actively working to bring together members of the Haitian Diaspora – accomplished professionals like Remy, who are industry experts, youth leaders, public servants, and non-profit sector workers – in our quest to “shape Haiti’s future, one child at a time.”

As the Director of Projects Management Remy occupies a unique and essential operational position.  Remy will be responsible for the development and execution of HavServe’s Haiti talent management and development strategy, including organizational development, succession planning, community leadership management, curriculum design, and more.  Remy originally joined our volunteer-based 501(c)3 non-profit as Haiti Country Director, a position he continues to serve in, and in which he identifies learning and development requirements by conducting needs-based analysis on organizational results, training requirements, and operational challenges. He also supervises and manages all of HavServe’s active projects and programs in Haiti with the help of Haitian leaders and volunteers.

A Haitian-American, Remy is a gifted and caring social entrepreneur who has devoted his life to serving the Haitian immigrant community to adjust and integrate into American society. Born in Haiti, Remy spent 15 years managing a major Fortune 100 corporation in the U.S., and has served as a board member for several non-profit organizations throughout the United States and Haiti. He also provides translation and cultural competency services to businesses and educational organizations in the U.S. and abroad. Remy holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Resources Development from the University of Bridgeport, CT. He has two Bachelor’s Degrees – one in Business Administration and the other a Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership. He is fluent in Creole, French, English and Spanish.

Remy is committed to making a meaningful contribution to Haiti’s development by bringing people together – a collaborative strategy designed to maximize the non-profit sector’s impact on living conditions in rural Haitian communities. Remy’s goal is to reach out to individual community leaders and gain their support while maintaining community cohesion and fostering teamwork to shape Haiti’s future, one child at a time. The name HavServe comes from the understanding that “if you Have, then you Serve.” And the Haitian Diaspora can provide the support we need to make sustainable development in Haiti a reality.

Please join us in welcoming, congratulating and saluting our beloved and distinguished colleague, friend, and Brother, Remy Mesilus, on his decision to “pay it forward and play it forward” in his beloved native country, and in wishing him well as a HavServe Board Member and our Director of Project Management.
