HavServe’s Volunteer Recognition Gala

HavBlog

HavServe’s Gala is run by our team of volunteers and recognizes individuals from both the private and public sectors who are making a real and lasting change in our communities.

Everyone likes a nice pat on the back for the work that they’ve done – whether it’s receiving an “A” from your toughest professor, finally getting that long-sought-after promotion at the office, or even getting a simple “thank you” for helping your neighbor out with his spring cleaning.  You may not find it surprising that humans are neurologically wired to positively respond to gratitude – the more we outwardly appreciate each other, the more virtuous we become. Showing and receiving gratitude has been shown lessen stress, increase feelings of well-being, and even improve sleeping habits – gratitude is truly a gift that keeps on giving.

HavServe’s greatest asset is our worldwide network of wonderful volunteers, a collection of inspired individuals of all different backgrounds. So on June 2nd, HavServe is prepared to formally extend our widest thanks to our corps of brilliant, passionate, and determined volunteers for the amazing work that they’ve dedicated to our team throughout the year. HavServe is eternally thankful for every minute that our volunteers put into our various projects, but on June 2nd you can come and get a nice pat on the back for your commitment to our causes.

Join us in saying “Thank You!” and sharing the gift of gratitude at our 7th Annual Fundraising & Volunteer Recognition Gala at the Silver Spring Civic Building in Silver Spring, MD at 6pm on June 2nd. In addition to celebrating our team members, proceeds will help fund our community center in rural Haiti, and kick-off the Caribbean-American Heritage month celebrations.
