Haiti Women’s Mentorship Program is a life-changing training program that for women in rural Haiti. The unique opportunity allows for women to learn management skills and best financial practices from other small business managers and expand their professional skills. The training promotes gender equality and has the potential to promote career growth and transform communities by teaching skills that enable women to start and manage the small business.
The goal of the small business coaching and microfinance training is to reach poor, underserved women and mothers in HavServe’s area of operations with microfinance loans and educational programs, creating opportunities while strengthening families and communities. Our strategy is to provide women in our program with the framework necessary to create change for themselves and their families.

Sustainable Development Goals Group Activities – Workshops for women in rural Haiti are designed for groups that want to travel to Haiti to complete a project in training women in small business development, microfinance loan management, and best business practicies. Groups select a project in collaboration with HavServe, and work to raise funds for this project. Once funds have been raised, the group travels to Haiti to implement the project. These trips are ideal for small business groups who would like to have a positive impact on women in rural Haiti.
Project Trip Qualifications
- Must be a group of 6 -12 people
- Must raise the full amount of money to implement one of HavServe’s upcoming projects, along with funds to travel to Haiti as a team to implement the project
- Willingness to take direction from Haitian staff
- Ability to be extremely flexible in a diverse environment
- Ability to learn and observe with an open mindset
- Ability to live and work in extremely rugged and harsh conditions without electricity, running water, or modern conveniences
- Ability to deal with complex emotional struggles
- Cultural sensitivity to beliefs and practices different than your own
