Meet Gregg Sanders.
As a travel junkie who has been everywhere in the world, Gregg combines his wanderlust and desire to help others by volunteering abroad. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, he has been in the landscape construction business for the last 42 years. His construction expertise helped him develop a new system to bring water to remote areas in rural Haiti that currently lack access to safe water, traveling with HavServe several times over the past year.
Gregg joined HavServe’s Summer Camp in 2017 and fell in love with the community of Lebrun, triggering him to return as a volunteer last February. As part of the construction crew for the new community center, he is extremely excited about his plans to connect the center with a water management system. Now back in Texas, he is already planning to revisit Haiti this July to launch the project.
His recommendation for volunteers: “Be specific and passionate about what you want to do. You need to be flexible, as things may not turn out the way you think. If you have an open mind and are willing to participate and work with everyone involved, you can have an amazing experience.”
